What are affiliate links?

Some of the resource links on Learning Journey are affiliate links. This means that when you click on a link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer or service provider. This happens at no additional cost to you -- the price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the website.

How does this work?

When you add a learning resource (book, course, article, etc.) to your journey, we check if the resource URL matches one of our affiliate partner networks. If it does, the "Visit Resource" link will route through our redirect service, which adds our affiliate tracking parameters to the URL before sending you to the destination.

You will always see the original URL displayed in the interface. When an affiliate link is active, a small "partner link" label appears next to the resource URL so you always know.

Does this cost me anything extra?

No. Affiliate links do not change the price you pay. The commission comes from the retailer, not from you. You are never charged more for using an affiliate link compared to visiting the site directly.

Why do we use affiliate links?

Learning Journey is a free platform. Affiliate commissions help us cover server costs, development time, and other expenses needed to keep the platform running and improving. It is a way for us to earn a small amount of revenue while providing a useful service to learners without ads or subscription fees.

Which networks do we partner with?

We work with well-known affiliate programs from major retailers and educational platforms. Our partner list may include programs like Amazon Associates, Bookshop.org, Udemy, Coursera, and others. We only partner with reputable services that are relevant to learning and education.

Your privacy

When you click an affiliate link, we record a basic click event for analytics purposes (which network was clicked, device type, and whether you were logged in). We do not track what you purchase or share any personal information with affiliate networks beyond what is contained in the URL itself.
